Trips to San Francisco

A Starting Point Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Flights to San Francisco

  • Dinner at the hotel

Day 2:

  • Start the day with a stunning first hand view of the famous Golden Gate bridge on a Bridge to Bridge cruise sailing under the sails the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge.

  • Under the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, head to Fort Point, a National Historic Site to learn about some of San Francisco's dramatic history from the Civil War through WWII.

  • From there, the tour will head north of Golden Gate Park to the Legion of Honor Museum. Lunch here in the 18th Century styled Palace and spend the afternoon exploring 4,000 years of history and art. 

  • Dinner near Golden Gate Park

Day 3:

  • Grab a street car and take your students to the California Academy of Science. Here students will be able to visit the natural history museum, an aquarium, an all-digital planetarium, and a four-story rainforest.

  • Lunch at the Academy of Science.
  • In the afternoon take an 'Escape the Rock' Cruise for students to see and learn about the infamous Alcatraz prison. There is the option to visit the prison on the island itself.

Day 4:

  • It's time to visit the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) for students to study the vast collections of contemporary and modern art.

  • Lunch at the Waterfront.

  • Walk from lunch to the highly interactive Exploratorium museum. Spend the afternoon full of opportunities for the students to touch and play with hundreds of different exhibits.

  • In the evening depart for home (overnight)

And Now for Something Completely Different

Your tour can include a visit to the New England Aquarium where students can watch the latest show at the IMAX theatre and experience the wonderful world under the sea while keeping their feet dry!

We offer ART tours focused in San Francisco as well.  Travel the city and study it's unique architecture and visit some of the excellent museums with their stunning artwork.
