San Francisco STEM Tour
Day 1 Arrive in San Francisco. Take a guided walking tour of Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach. See fantastic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the key attractions of Lombard Street and Coit Tower. Later, take a ride on a San Francisco cable car to continue your exploration of the city.
Day 2 Begin the day by visiting the Exploratorium. Experience this hands-on museum of science, art and human perception containing over 600 exhibits, both indoors and out. Go on to the Tactile Dome where you will take an interactive trip in total darkness. Have lunch and continue on to the Golden State Bridge Plaza Tour. Walk across this awe-inspiring structure and enjoy the view of the Bay area.
Day 3 Travel by bus to the Silicon Valley. Stop first at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. Try out virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality in their digital experience lab. Continue on to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View and discover the 2000 year history of this important game-changer. The next stop is The Intel Museum in Santa Clara. Learn about the importance of the semiconductor in the development of the microprocessor. Return to San Francisco.
Day 4 Start the day with a visit to the Auto Desk Gallery and explore the world of 3-D printing. Participate in a hands-on workshop. Next, take a tour of the Tech Shop to see how innovation starts. This work shop is packed with the latest software, 3D printers and CNC (computer numerically controlled) manufacturing tools ready for the locals to use. After lunch hike through the Muir Woods National Monument.
Day 5 Take the small Behind the Scenes tour of the only place in the world with an aquarium, planetarium, natural history museum and a 4-storey rainforest under one roof. Return home in the afternoon.
