More About...

1200 YEARS OF FRENCH FLAVOR

Arrive in New York City. Begin your day with a stop at the Cloisters Museum.  Take in the gargoyles, beasties, gardens, Unicorn Tapestries and stained glass of Medieval France.  Walk through the 4 cloisters that were disassembled, stone by stone and shipped to New York City, where they were reconstructed to form the MET CLOISTER.  Spend the afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  View the French art of the 15th-19th century.  Have dinner at a French restaurant.  View the city after dark from the top of the Empire State Building.  Check into your hotel.

Begin day 2 with a walk through Central Park.  Head over to the Modern Museum of Art.  View the modern works of the French masters Matisse, Chagall, Cezanne, Ernst, Seurat and more.  Enjoy a “dejeuner” as you watch the crowds go by.  Head up to the very modern MET BREUER Museum.  Go from there further uptown to the Conservatory Garden in Central Park.  View the North Garden, patterned in the “French” style.  Have dinner in Times Square and return to your hotel.

Begin day 3 with a ferry ride to Ellis Island.  Visit the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States, designed by Gustav Eiffel.  Tour the Museum of Immigration.  Before departing for home, have an in-depth tour of the United Nations.
